It’s been a fun packed month at Warlingham Cubs! The Cubs have been cooking up a storm, making pizza’s and cooking pancakes on a baked bean tin!
On Monday 20th April, Dominic B was presented with the new Group Badge attached to his scarf.
Celebrating the commencement of our centenary year, we are challenging any group to a wheelbarrow race at Warlingham Fair on Saturday 20th June between 11am and 4pm.
Last month I thanked several people for helping at Roverdene working party in March
Unfortunately I had a brain storm and got half the names wrong and missed others out, so I will try again.
January saw us organise our own Frost camp at Roverdene attended by 26 scouts and included a hike in readiness for the night hike challenge in March.Although no frost a good time was had by all.
Although I don’t have any figures yet I do know that a lot of young people in Caterham wore their uniform to school on St George’s Day.
On Friday 17th March, 1st Caterham Scouts met up at the Scout Hut and started our walk to Mercers Park. We walked 10km while carrying our own personal camping equipment in a rucksack.
Although we aren’t having a district camp this year, we are about to start preparations for a district camp next year 2010. We would really like to see some new blood on the committee.
To help get rid of the chocolate excesses over Easter, 16 scouts and 4 leaders took part in a camp at Mercers Park on the 17th and 18th of April.
