21 Cub scouts and four leaders from Chaldon Cub Pack took to the River Thames on the weekend 23rd-24th January for a sleepover on HMS Belfast.
Preparations for this year’s District Camp over the weekend of 14th-16th May are now well underway.
A course has been organised for aspiring campfire leaders.
Firstly, I hope everyone had a great Christmas and that you are all keeping to your new resolutions (I've already broken mine!).
Thank you to everyone who came along to Caterham District’s Carol Service. The Cubs, Beavers and Scouts in our Group certainly did us proud – well done to them all!
At Easter we are running the New Forest Fun Camp for Scouts at Ferny Crofts Campsite, from 2nd-6th April 2010. All the paper work will be out early in the New Year.
Skaterham (CR3 Youth Project) have a minibus for hire to other youth groups in the Caterham area for a subsidised cost as part of our commitment to serve the community.
The 1st Caterham Beavers have had a busy term, starting with a very popular bat hunt at Gatton Park, a conker evening, and visits from the Guide Dogs for the Deaf and St John’s Ambulance.
In November the 1st Caterham Cubs had an excellent visit to Skaterham Skate Park. Some of us had never skated, while others were regulars, but we all enjoyed it very much – even Akela had a go!
