Anthony and his wife, Laura, are both from Caterham. They both went to local schools and Anthony was a Scout with the 5th Caterham Group.

Firstly, I hope everyone had a great Christmas and that you are all keeping to your new resolutions (I've already broken mine!).

We recently held the selection day for two Scouts/Explorers to attend the Jamboree in 2011.

We have a new unit recently started at 3rd Caterham’s HQ on Friday nights. Good luck to the young people and the leaders and let’s hope it goes from strength to strength.

On Saturday 10th October I was invited to go along and take part in the official launch of the new 8th Caterham Scout Group. As John was unwell it fell on me to perform the official duties.

September has been a busy month with Groups returning after the summer break. It has also seen the start of a new Group in the District.

As we start a new Scouting year it is good to report that our newest Scout Group, the 8th Caterham, is going great guns and is doing very well.

Although we aren’t having a district camp this year, we are about to start preparations for a district camp next year 2010. We would really like to see some new blood on the committee.
