Numbers in Caterham Scouting are still growing and recently I was asked by the Village in Caterham on the Hill if there was any chance of starting up a new scout group in that location.

Unfortunately I had a brain storm and got half the names wrong and missed others out, so I will try again.
I visited the New Forest camp over the Easter holidays and although numbers were down on last year everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Well done to John S and his team for making it happen.
Although I don’t have any figures yet I do know that a lot of young people in Caterham wore their uniform to school on St George’s Day.

I saw a lot of excited Scouts leaving Whyteleafe HQ on the annual Challenge.
I also attended the Scrapheap Challenge for Beaver Scouts organised by Janice. A lot of mess, paint and paper everywhere, but some very happy and excited children.
It is time for a new person to become DC for Caterham. I started here in April 1997 not knowing much about the job but have had a marvellous time.
