September has been a busy month with Groups returning after the summer break. It has also seen the start of a new Group in the District. 8th Caterham Scout Group officially started on 7th September with their first Cub Scout meeting followed the next day with Beaver Scouts, then Scouts on the Friday. I was able to attend the Cub Scout and Beaver Scout meetings and was pleased by the number of new members the Group has managed to recruit.
On Saturday 12th September I had the opportunity to spend the day providing archery for 1st Whyteleafe Group’s family camp at Blackland Farm, everyone seemed to be having great fun and the weather was kind all weekend. Whilst there I came across Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts and Scouts from 11th Caterham who were enjoying a Group activity day, again everyone was in good spirits and the Beaver Scouts were having great fun with grass sledges!
Another event I managed to attend was 11th Caterham’s celebration tea party, plenty of food, plenty of fun and games, a Scouting quiz and a first class cake, what more can you ask for?
