Group History

The 4th Caterham Group has had an interesting and varied history!

It was was first registered in 1930 as 23rd South Croydon but the group was transferred into Caterham District in 1933, and renamed 4th.Caterham (Dene Preparatory School), but became extinct in about 1937.

In 1938 it was re-registered as 4th Caterham. In 1948 it was renamed again as 4th Caterham (Salvation Army) but became dormant in 1954. It was resurrected in 1967 as 4th Caterham, but again became dormant in 1970.

In May 2004 (officially July 2004) it was again resurrected when the 3C's Cub Pack of the 3rd Caterham Group was granted permission to expand into a separate group. It re-named itself 4th Caterham (Caterham Christian Centre).

The group has it's own website at www.4thCaterham.org.uk
