Firstly, I hope everyone had a great Christmas and that you are all keeping to your new resolutions (I've already broken mine!).
Thank you to the 4th for organising the District Carol Service. It was a nice combination of traditional and modern. Well done to everyone who took part. The attendance was really good also. There will be another joint District Carol Service in 2011 (any volunteers to organise will be gratefully accepted).
The Beaver Scout’s Christmas party was also a great success. Again, well done to all who organised it. All the youngsters I saw seemed to be having a great time.
I also visited three Groups, Chaldon for their Carol Service, 11th Beavers for their carols and also their Cubs for their Christmas Scouts’ Own, and a really nice play put on by the Beaver Scouts at 1st Whyteleafe.
There was also carol singing with the 5th and 4th Caterham in Church Walk Precinct when Father Christmas turned on the lights.
It made a great run up to Christmas.
And so to the New Year.
I know there are a lot of activities planned over the coming months and I would love to be invited to some or all of them.
Don't forget before the camping season starts to make sure your camping permits are up to date and if you have not already got a permit, please contact me so that we can start the process.
Happy New Year.
John
