On Friday 19th February, 14 Beavers arrived at our HQ for a sleepover and a visit to the RAF Museum.
We started off by investing three new Beavers into our Colony. Following this, the Beavers had fun making paper aeroplanes which they decorated and then had lots of fun flying them in a friendly competition to see whose aeroplane could travel the furthest.
After a supper of fish fingers in rolls with fruit and milk, the Beavers got washed and ready for bed, during which time John our Scout Leader arrived to put the Beaver’s sleeping tents up for us. The Beavers excitedly put their belongings in the tent they wanted to sleep in and settled down to watch a film before going to ‘sleep’.
After an awful night’s sleep we got the Beavers up at 7.00am for breakfast before heading off to the RAF Museum. The Beavers had a fantastic time looking at the aircrafts. After lunch they completed workbooks to gain their Air Activities badge. They all thoroughly enjoyed finding the information and completing their workbooks.

At the end of our visit the Beavers were presented with their Air Activities badges by two of the museum staff who had dressed up in World War II uniforms especially for the occasion.
When we arrived back at the HQ we had a closing ceremony and presentation for the Beavers where they received a fun badge for their sleepover, a gift from the museum, and the first time Beavers received their first Night’s Away badge. We also said farewell to our three girl Beavers who are moving up to Cubs.
