Beaver update

The Colony welcomed four new Beaver Scouts at the start of term and are currently moving three onto the Cub Pack. The Beavers enjoyed an evening ten-pin bowling in Purley. They were grateful to Alison for sharing details of her trip to Kenya and to James on his report of his visit to Lerang’wa School in Tanzania. It was a very enjoyable visit from Mr Jones of Caterham School who showed them lots of Science experiments. After half term the Beavers spent an evening with giant millipedes, cockroaches, lizards, Slytherin the boa constrictor and a skunk. The Beavers made chocolate krispies for their mothers and were pleased to see Jane Holt for the evening as she helped with this task.

We were delighted that the Beavers won the District Scrapheap Challenge They spent a very enjoyable afternoon working hard cutting out, painting, pasting and designing their model. Ella has written an account about this.
