As some of you may know by now I have been asked to be District Commissioner of Caterham District by the county commissioner I will be taking over from Andy in the next two months or so after I have been in hospital for a small operation. In the mean time, Andy will continue to act as DC.
Andy will be a very hard act to follow but I am looking forward to the challenge of running a very successful district and maintaining, and even increasing the high standards Andy has helped to achieve whilst the district has been under his stewardship.
I have been involved with Caterham district as a leader in quite a few guises for about 17 years and have always loved my time in Caterham and with all your help will continue to do so.
I hope to get round and visit all sections and groups in the very near future and would love to be invited to any of your award ceremonies or activities.
Hopefully I will see most of you on 8th April at the District meeting.
Finally I would like to thank Andy for his leadership and friendship over the last 11 years as DC.
John Andrews
(District Commissioner designate)
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate John on being selected to become District Commissioner. I have known him for about 30 years since we lived in Croydon, and one of our first conversations was about Scouting. I know he has the interests of the whole Scout movement in general and for Caterham District in particular at the heart of all he does. I am sure the District is in very safe hands.
Andy
